I was recently introduced to a light novel called I Was Summoned To A Parallel World…Many Times! by my friend. It’s a pretty interesting read so far, and I thought I’d share my thoughts on the first chapter.
The story follows a man named Kazuki, who is repeatedly summoned to a parallel world by a beautiful woman named Iris. Each time he is summoned, he is given a different power or ability, and is tasked with saving the world from some sort of danger.
So far, the story is pretty fun and light-hearted. Kazuki is a likeable enough protagonist, and the world he’s been transported to is interesting enough. I’m looking forward to seeing where the story goes from here.

The Premise

I was summoned to a parallel world…many times!
That’s the premise of this story.
I, Kazuya Souma, was summoned to a parallel world with my childhood friend, Miyuki.
We were summoned by the Demon King to be his aides.=
But, the Demon King was defeated by the Hero and sealed away.
And so, our adventure in this parallel world came to an end.
Or so we thought.
It turns out that we were just the first in a long line of people to be summoned to this world.
And so, our adventure in this parallel world began anew.
The Characters
The story of “I Was Summoned to a Parallel World…Many Times!” revolves around three main characters: Ryouma, Touya, and Shizune. Ryouma is the protagonist, a young man who is transported to a parallel world and must use his knowledge of our world to survive. Touya is Ryouma’s friend, who is also transported to the parallel world. Shizuna is a young woman who is also from the parallel world, and who helps Ryouma and Touya adjust to their new lives.
Ryouma is the main character of the story, and the one who is most often transported to parallel worlds. He is a young man in his twenties, and is originally from Japan. He is a skilled martial artist, and is also knowledgeable about science and technology. Ryouma is a calm and level-headed individual, who is able to think logically and make quick decisions. He is also a very friendly person, and is always willing to help others.
Touya is Ryouma’s best friend, and is also from Japan. He is a few years younger than Ryouma, and is also a skilled martial artist. Touya is a very outgoing and friendly person, who is always eager to help others. He is also very curious, and is always asking questions about the world around him.
Shizuna is a young woman who is from the parallel world. She is a skilled fighter, and is also very knowledgeable about the world around her. Shizuna is a kind and caring person, who is always willing to help others. She is also very loyal, and is always ready to fight for those she cares about.
The World
I’ve been summoned to a parallel world.
That’s right, I was summoned.
I was summoned by a huge demon king to save his daughter from a powerful dragon. I was summoned by a beautiful elven queen to help her people against a horde of orcs. I was summoned by a mighty emperor to defeat a rebel army.
I was even summoned by a cute little girl to help her find her lost cat.
In each case, I was the chosen one, the hero who would save the day. It was always a great adventure, and I always made new friends along the way.
But then, one day, I was summoned to a world that was very different from any other.
There was no demon king, no elven queen, no rebel army. There was only a little girl, and she didn’t need my help to find her cat.
She needed my help to save her world from a powerful enemy.
And so, I found myself fighting alongside the people of this world, using all my skills and abilities to protect them.
It was the hardest thing I’d ever done, but I didn’t give up.
I couldn’t give up, because I’d finally found a place where I belonged.
A place where I could be the hero.
The Story

In this chapter, we are introduced to the main character, Ryouichi. Ryouichi is a high school student who has been summoned to a parallel world many times. In this world, he is always given a powerful weapon and tasked with defeating the demon king. However, each time he is summoned, he is defeated and sent back to his own world.
Ryouichi is tired of being summoned and wants to find a way to break the cycle. He decides to ask the goddess who summoned him for help. However, the goddess does not seem to be interested in helping him and tells him to figure it out himself.
Ryouichi is frustrated but decides to take her advice and try to figure it out himself. He starts by looking into the parallel world he was summoned to and trying to find out more about the demon king. However, he does not seem to be making much progress.
One day, Ryouichi’s friend, Kurumi, tells him about a dream she had where she was also summoned to a parallel world. In her dream, she was able to defeat the demon king and save the world. Ryouichi is surprised by this and starts to think that maybe there is a way for him to defeat the demon king after all.
